Athlete Code of Conduct

For the first time, we are asking team members to sign a code of conduct to remind jumpers of the commitment involved in being a member of our program.  Please read through the information with your son/daughter, sign the bottom, and return to Mrs. Flickinger by September 30. 
 

Team Philosophy

The HT High Flyers demonstration/competition team gives children the opportunity to:

1. Build valuable life skills.
2. Gain health benefits by jumping rope on a regular basis.
3. Travel to other schools and communities to demonstrate skills.
4. Gain poise and self confidence performing and speaking in front of large groups.
5. Learn personal goal setting and self evaluation.
6. Become role models for other students.
7. Learn teamwork and cooperation.
8. Participate in a voluntary activity that gives back to the community and others.

Athletes who are members of the HT High Flyers jump rope team are expected to demonstrate integrity, dedication, perseverance, honesty, respect for others, good academic standing, volunteerism, cooperation, and kindness.  As our team becomes recognized, members are acknowledged for their participation in our program and they should take this responsibility seriously as they represent our school, the community, themselves and their families. 

Code of Conduct

1. Be fair and treat others as I would expect to be treated.
2. Treat all members of my team, my coaches, officials and others with respect and kindness.
3. Be dependable in fulfilling obligations and commitments.
4. Accept responsibility for my own actions and not make excuses or blame others.
5. Be committed, dedicated and strive to do my best.
6. Be gracious in all circumstances, and congratulate my teammates and fellow competitors for their successes.
7. Control my temper and frustrations, and do not display negative emotions or behaviors.
8. Practice good manners and civility to my teammates, judges, parents, coaches, and whenever I am representing the team.
9. Speak in a supportive way about fellow competitors, other teams, coaches and officials.
10. Be compassionate and sensitive to others.
11. Put others before myself.
12. Maintain strong academic standing in my school work, and make up any work that I miss, in a timely manner, after being away from school for team commitments.
13. Follow the principles of my faith as I participate in all team activities.

I promise to abide by this Code of Conduct as a member of the HT High Flyers Jump Rope Team.
