
Practice
During the fall, we practice from 3:45-6:00 p.m. every Wednesday. Our primary focus this time of the year is learning new skills and choreographing our demonstration routines.
As we start preparing for competition (usually by November), we will add Saturday morning practices for those who are planning to compete in AAU Junior Olympics and/or USA Jump Rope National Championships. We also will begin gymnastics practices, which take place before our Saturday morning practice starting in early October. Details on gymnastics training will be forthcoming.
For practice, jumpers should bring their jump ropes and proper footwear (athletic, running or cross-trainer shoes). Team members will not be allowed to jump without the proper shoes. They should also bring a snack and drink since students are typically hungry at the end of the school day. The team members burn many calories throughout our training sessions.
Mrs. Kovalcik has cold bottled water for sale for $0.25 if anyone would prefer to send in a quarter for one of these drinks.
